EARLY DETECTION OF ORAL CAVITY DISEASES IN SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN

Abstract

This article aims to determine the prevalence and intensity of primary oral and dental diseases in schoolchildren. The study was conducted on a total of 310 children aged 7 to 15 years attending schools No. 1 and No. 26 in the city of Termez. The clinical research was carried out through dental examinations based on the conventionally recognized methods of the World Health Organization (specifically, the fifth edition of "Oral Health Surveys: Basic Methods"). The parents of the students participating in the study were informed in advance about the purpose and methods of the upcoming examination, and their written consent was obtained.

Results: During a comprehensive dental examination, the average prevalence of dental caries in school-age children was 83.2%.

The prevalence of signs of periodontal tissue damage was 3.3% in primary school students, 22.1% in the 12-year-old group, and 29.0% in 15-year-old students.

In conclusion, the results of the study indicate a low level of dental care provided to schoolchildren in the main age groups, as well as the inadequacy of preventive and treatment measures.

The data obtained serve to substantiate the primary directions for improving dental care for school-age children within the modern conditions of the healthcare system.
