SLEEPLESSNESS (INSOMNIA) AND ITS IMPACT ON THE HUMAN BODY
Keywords:
insomnia, stress, anxiety, depression, psychological factorsAbstract
This study analyzes the psychological factors contributing to the onset of insomnia and its impact on human physiology. Psychological factors—such as stress, anxiety, depression, emotional strain, and poor sleep habits—are identified as primary causes of sleep disturbances. The effects of insomnia on the body include hormonal imbalances, a weakened immune system, impaired cardiovascular function, and metabolic changes. Furthermore, a decline in cognitive functions—specifically attention, memory, and emotional stability—is noted as a significant consequence of insomnia. The research findings indicate that adhering to sleep hygiene practices and maintaining psychological well-being are crucial for the prevention of insomnia.
