Newborn care is a critical component of neonatal health and survival.
Appropriate primary care during the first hours and days of life significantly reduces neonatal
morbidity and mortality. Essential newborn care includes immediate assessment, thermal protection,
hygienic cord care, early initiation of breastfeeding, infection prevention, and continuous
monitoring of the infant's condition. This article examines the principles, importance, and modern
approaches to primary newborn care, emphasizing evidence-based practices that contribute to
healthy growth and development
