Abstract

Talent acquisition and skill gaps have become critical issues in both the United States and China as these two global economies compete for technological supremacy and economic growth. While the US faces a shortage of STEM professionals, particularly in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and advanced manufacturing, China struggles with an aging workforce and a skills mismatch between education and industry needs. This paper explores the talent acquisition challenges and workforce skill gaps in both nations, comparing policies, education systems, and workforce strategies. It further examines the role of government initiatives, corporate involvement, and international collaboration in addressing these challenges.
