Abstract

This article examines the role of language and literary devices in constructing plots in Agatha Christie’s detective fiction. Particular attention is paid to dialogue, repetition, irony, ambiguity, contrast, ellipsis, and narrative perspective. Through examples from The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Murder on the Orient Express. The study demonstrates how linguistic choices function not merely as stylistic decoration but as mechanisms for concealing clues, directing suspicion, creating suspense, and preparing the final revelation
